Boston Trip

This past Thanksgiving, Vinh and I in a spur of the moment, decided to take a trip to Boston. The best thing about traveling there on a holiday, was that the streets were dead and we had the town allll to ourselves...

The worst thing about the day, was that the streets were dead, and nothing was open to check out or (hide in for warmth).

We pretty much spent our first whole day roaming the streets, peering into dark, empty stores and buildings that were closed because other people in their right mind stayed home or spent time with their family over the holiday. Duh. hahaha

Regardless of the seemingly aimless roaming out on the streets of Boston, it was actually quite a romantic stroll :3

Fall/Winter in Boston is so nice. Being bundled up, hand in hand, exploring a new city without any distractions from the background noise of a regular day - was absolutely amazing. It felt as though the whole city shut down for an entire day, just for us.

We loved it.

Here we are all bundled up! :3

The Hideout was a cozy underground bar and diner that was actually open! We ate here immediately.

This was from the next day, when everything opened up again. Our 2nd trip back to the library now that it's open...

Love of my life <3 comment-3--="">

We waited outside in line for about an hour before we were able to get a table at Giacomo's (above is us eating some of the cannolis we got from Mike's Pastries while we were waiting in line). Other folks who got there earlier waited in line about an hour before they even opened, so the wait was pretty fair.

It's a cozy restaurant :)

On our last evening, our friends took us out for some Japanese barbeque. It was good! I wish they had a franchise down in Texas.

Overall, it was the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of our "regular" lives. We needed this. I think everyone does. Every once in awhile a little adventure away from the norm doesn't hurt. I loved Boston. It's such a walkable city, and I experienced my first ride on the subway :3.

Even though it's a part of the US, I felt like the culture was totally different - coming from the south where we have to drive about 30 minutes to get anywhere away from the suburbs, and where you rarely ever see people walking around. You see how differently others live, and you grow to appreciate more where you came from, since it's different to others as well. With that being said, it's great to be home again where the heart is, but I can't wait for our next trip wherever that'll be. I want to see more.
